七夕祭り！Tanabata Festival!

こんにちは。ズー・フォニックス・アカデミー戸塚校です！
7月7日は七夕ということで皆で七夕について学びました。ズー・フォニックス・アカデミーはオールイングリッシュのインターナショナルスクールですが、多くの生徒は卒園後、日本の小学校に入学されることが多いので日本の文化もスクールで学んでおります。学ぶ時はもちろん英語です！
Greetings from Zoo-phonics Academy Totsuka School. July 7th in Japan is Tanabata festival, so we learned about the Tanabata festival also known as Star Festival. Tanabata celebrates the meeting of the goddess Orihime and god Hikoboshi. According to legend, the Milky Way separates these lovers, and they are allowed to meet only once a year on the seventh day of the seventh. At Zoo-phonics, we learn about Japanese cultures and hollidays, since lot of our students move on to public elementary schools in Japan. We all learn the Japanese cultures in English as well.

七夕といえば短冊ということで皆でそれぞれ願い事を英語で書き、笹の葉に飾りました。願い事は短冊に英語で書きました！又、ディーディーディアでは和つなぎをクラフトタイムに作ったので、一緒に飾ってもらいました！
Famous way to celebrate Tanabata is to write the wishes on small pieces of paper called Tanzaku and hanging them on bamboo. Students wrote their own wishes on Tanzaku in English! Deedee Deer friends also made Tanabata decorations to go along the Tanzaku as well, so we decorated our bamboos!

皆甚平や浴衣を着ていたので、最後はそれぞれのクラスで記念撮影をしました。1枚目はミッシーマウスさん(年々少)、2枚目はロビーラビットさん(年少)です。
We all wore Jinbei or Yukata, a traditional Japanese summer clothing, for the festival, so we took some group photos. First photo is our Missy Mouse class(ages 2-3), and second photo is our Robby Rabbit class(ages 3-4).

3枚目はディーディーディアクラス(年中＆年長)。最後の写真はロビーとディーディーディアクラス一緒にスナックタイムを笹の葉を眺めながら楽しみました！
Third photo is our Deedee deer class(ages 4 to 6). Our Robby and Deedee class had snack time together to celebrate the festival on our last photo.
