Theme Time for DD Class!👻🎃
This month’s theme was “Monsters and Halloween.”👻🎃
During theme time, the DD class children made slime and then used it to create their very own monsters!
They also learned many adjectives during theme time this month.
Using the book “The Color Monster” by Anna Llenas, we explored adjectives that describe feelings and emotions.😊😢🥰
This book expresses various human emotions through colors in a way that is easy for children to understand.
By associating emotions with colors, it helps children recognize and organize their feelings.
It also teaches them that everyone has many different emotions, and that having a variety of feelings is not a bad thing.👍The children enjoyed choosing their own slime colors and creating monsters of different shapes and styles!
At Zoo-phonics Academy, our theme time is not only about learning the theme itself, but also about exploring STEM and SEL (Social and Emotional Learning) concepts — all in English.
Although these topics may seem challenging, the children are learning happily and naturally through hands-on activities and storybooks!👏🎉

DDクラスの子どもたちはテーマの時間にスライムを作り、そのスライムを使って自分だけのモンスターを作りました！
今月のテーマの時間には形容詞も学びました。
その中で、Anna Llenasの本"The Color Monster"を使いながら、感情を表現する形容詞を学びました。
この本は、人が持つさまざまな感情を、子どもたちにもわかりやすく色で表現している本で、感情に色を付けることで、子どもたちが気持ちを整理しやすくなっています。😊😢🥰
人はたくさんの感情を持っていること、様々な感情を持つことは悪いことではないということを教えてくれる本でもありますね。
子どもたちは、自分でスライムの色を選び、さまざまな形のモンスターを作っていましたよ！
ズー・フォニックス・アカデミーのテーマの時間では、テーマについて学ぶだけでなく、STEMやSELについても英語で学んでいます。難しそうに見えますが、子どもたちは、アクティビティや本を通して楽しそうに学んでいますよ！👏🎉
