🌻English Summer School – Week 2: Kindergarten Class Highlights!🌻
At Summer School at Zoo-phonics Academy, students learn each week’s theme through activities and crafts conducted entirely in English.
The theme for Week 2 was "Once Upon a STEM", a combination of fairy tales and STEM education.
The children took part in activities such as throwing balls at houses made from blocks or paper to test which material made the strongest structure, and building boats to see if they would float on water.🏡🚣
In the kindergarten class, theme-based activities and crafts included crumpling paper, playing with clay, and moving their bodies to music—incorporating both fine motor skills and gross motor skills through full-body movement.🤸🙌
The children also learn phonics during summer school. They learned the basic sounds associated with each letter of the alphabet.
They seemed to really enjoy learning through fun activities with the teacher and using magnetic learning materials!😊

サマースクールでは毎週決まったテーマについて、英語行われるアクティビティや工作を通して学んでいきます。🌻
Week2のテーマは"Once Upon a STEM", おとぎ話とSTEM教育を組み合わせたテーマでした。
ブロックや紙で作った家にボールを当てて、どの素材の家が一番強いかを試してみたり、船を作って水に浮かべてみたりなどのアクティビティを行いました。🏡🚣
また、幼稚園児クラスでは、テーマに関するアクティビティや工作の中で、紙をくしゃくしゃにしたり粘土をしたり、音楽に合わせて体を動かしたり等、手先の運動や体全体を使った運動も組み込まれています🤸🙌
サマースクールでは、フォニックスを学ぶ時間もあります。幼稚園児クラスでは、フォニックスの基本となる、各アルファベットが持つ音を学びます。子どもたちは、先生とのアクティビティやマグネット教材を使って、楽しそうに学んでいましたよ！😊
